I desire to volunteer my services to the Louisiana National Guard 2012 Kids’ A.T. at Camp Beauregard, Pineville, Louisiana, 12-15 June 2012. I expressly agree that my services are being performed as a volunteer and that I am not, solely because of these services, an employee of the United States Government or any instrumentality thereof except for certain purposes relating to tort claims and workman’s compensation coverage with regard to incidents occurring during the performance of approved volunteer services. I expressly agree that I expect no present or future salary, wages, or related benefits as payment for these volunteer services. I agree to participate in whatever training that may be required in order for me to perform the work for which I am volunteering.
I, Adult Volunteer, acknowledge that the La National Guard Child and Youth Program has the highest standards of behavior for staff, volunteers, and children/youth. In an effort to ensure safety for all participants, zero tolerance policy regarding abuse and misconduct is in place during all La National Guard Child and Youth Program events and activities for staff, volunteers and children/youth. The La National Guard Child and Youth Program Staff reserve the right to terminate the participation of any person (staff, volunteer, child) when it is deemed to be in the best interest of other children, participants or Staff, as determined by the La National Guard Child and Youth Program Staff. I further agree to the following:
1. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR TOBACCO PRODUCTS WILL BE PERMITTED IN CAMP AREA. As a Kids’ AT Adult Volunteer Cadre, I agree to refrain from the use of alcohol during the period, 12-15 June 2012. I fully understand and appreciate my responsibility to maintain full capacity to be called to the aid of children at any time during this period. If I must smoke or use tobacco products, I will ensure no camper or senior/junior counselor can witness me. I will smoke or use tobacco only outside the facilities and areas used during 2012 Kids’ A.T. (Tobacco Products are not permitted for Senior/Junior Counselors).
2. I understand my responsibilities call for me to set the best possible example for the campers attending Kids’ AT. Therefore, I agree to wear the appropriate attire at Kids’ AT (i.e. one-piece swimsuits, sleeved shirts, and modest gym or walking shorts). I agree not to wear T-shirts or other articles of clothing displaying references to profanity, alcohol, tobacco or illegal drugs. I agree to keep adult “horseplay” away from the campers so as to avoid the confusion among the campers in determining when such activity is in order. This is not intended to thwart anyone’s enjoyment (Volunteer or Kid) during their participation in Kids’ AT. This should minimize the possibility of things escalating among the children resulting in an unintended bad camp experience for all concerned. I also agree to refrain from profanity.
