225th Engineer Brigade
The 225th Engineer Brigade consists of a Headquarters and Headquarters company, and four Engineer Battalions (Combat Heavy). Units of the 225th Engineer Brigade conduct missions of mobility, counter-mobility, survivability, and civil engineering support. The brigade possesses a mixture of civil and combat engineer units to accomplish these missions.
256th Infantry Brigade Combat Team
Headquartered in Lafayette, the 256th IBCT consists of the 199th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Battalion of the 108th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Squadron of the 156th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Battalion of the 156th Infantry Regiment, 256th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Battalion of the 141st Artillery Regiment, and the Headquarters.
61st Troop Command
Located at the Gillis W. Long Center in Carville, consists of a headquarters element and a Civil Support Team (Weapons of Mass Destruction). The Troop Command uniquely consists of approximately fifty Soldiers and Airmen with an important role in homeland security for the state.
139th Regional Support Group
Headquartered at Jackson Barracks in New Orleans, the 139th Regional Support Group consists of a Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, Military Intelligence Battalion, Military Police Battalion, Combat Service Support Battalion, an Army Band and an Expeditionary Signal Company.
State Aviation Command
The State Aviation Command oversees Army aviation operations in Louisiana and consists of two armories, in Hammond and Pineville, eight units and 800 Soldiers. Air assets include 26 UH-60 Black Hawks , 8 LUH-72 Lakotas and one C-12 Huron.
199th Regional Training Institute
159th Fighter Wing
The Louisiana Air National Guard consists of a Headquarters and the 159th Fighter Wing located at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in New Orleans totaling more than 1,500 men and women. The Fighter Wing is composed of an Operations Group, Medical Group, Maintenance Group and Support Group along with four subordinate geographically separated units, each with a distinct mission. The 159th FW has 20 Boeing F-15C/Ds and a WC-130 aircraft.
