Brigadier General Stephen Dabadie

Brigadier General Dabadie currently serves as the Assistant Adjutant General (Army) and Director of the State Military Department for the Louisiana National Guard. He serves as a principal advisor to The Adjutant General and is responsible for assisting The Adjutant General in the deployment and coordination of programs, policies, and plans for the Louisiana Army National Guard.

General Dabadie is a native of New Roads, Louisiana. He graduated from Catholic High School in Pointe Coupee and holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Loyola University, New Orleans, Louisiana, and a master’s degree in Strategic Studies.

A distinguished military graduate of Loyola University ROTC, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, regular Army, and immediately ordered to active duty.

On 3 July 1988, General Dabadie joined the Louisiana Army National Guard and was assigned to 1st Battalion, 156th Armor as the Battalion Executive Officer.

On 26 August 2005, in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, he was assigned as the Military Liaison to the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. He also served as the first Task Force Commander for Operation Crescent Guard as the Louisiana National Guard provided law enforcement support to the New Orleans Police Department. On 1 August 2007, General Dabadie was recalled from retirement and assigned to his present position as the Assistant Adjutant General (Army) for the Louisiana National Guard.

General Dabadie is a member of the National Guard Association of Louisiana; National Guard Association of the United States; United States Army Armor Association; Friends of the Jackson Barracks Military Museum.

General Dabadie and his wife Sue reside in New Roads, Louisiana. They have two sons, a daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter.
