La. Guard trains Cyber Defense Incident Response Team

Members of the Louisiana National Guard’s new Cyber Defense Incident Response Team (CDIRT) learn about identifying cyber attack types and origins during a two-day training event as part of a partnership with the Louisiana State University Stephenson Disaster Management Institute (SDMI) Cyber Security Initiative, February 7-8, 2015, in Baton Rouge, La.

Approximately 40 Soldiers and Airmen from across the state attended in an effort to learn vital cyber attack protection skills. CDIRT's mission is to respond to cyber events within Louisiana, to secure and restore affected networks by defeating threats and restoring normal operations in a timely and efficient manner with minimum disruption of services and capabilities.
